Workshop ANTILLIAN COOKING

Will you come and make a real Antillean meal with us? Then you are most welcome on Saturday 25 February, from 13:30 to 16:15 in the Markthal in Rotterdam!

In this workshop you and Jurino will make a delicious Antillean stew (stobá) of chicken. With vegetables, sauce and our special spices. You will also learn how to make the tastiest 'funchi', which you can eat with it. And the meal is, of course, only complete with pickles and slices of plantain.

We are going to make all these things in groups of 3. In the cooking studio you have plenty of room for it and with Jurino's explanation it will be fine anyway.

In almost three hours you will learn everything about these Antillean dishes. How they came about and of course… how to prepare them best. You will also learn background information about the different vegetables and what to look out for when choosing a plantain.

At the end of the workshop we will pack the meal and you can take it with you to eat at home. You will also receive an extra package of the used 'Soulfood Seasoning' spices from us to enjoy cooking at home.

And... we will of course make sure that a cooled drink + Caribbean delicacy is ready for you during the break 😉

LOCATION (ATTENTION!)

The workshop will be held in the Markthal in Rotterdam. There we rent the cooking studio of the SVO vocational training Food† There is room enough for everyone, so we don't get in each other's way! The market hall is right next to Blaak train/metro station. The entrance to the cooking studio is on the Extended Nieuwstraat 177. That is on the side (outside) of the Markthal.

On the window is the number 177 and in large letters “SVO Vakopleiding food”.

PARKING

You can park cheaply in Rotterdam if you reserve a spot in one of the municipal garages in advance. The garage 'Oude Haven' and 'Kiphof' are closest to our location. For a parking ticket of 5 hours you only pay € 6,50. Click here to reserve a spot

– The entrance to the cooking studio is located on the side (outside) of the Markthal. The address is Verlengde Nieuwstraat 177 and the window reads “SVO Vakopleiding Food”

– Unfortunately, the studio is not suitable for wheelchair users

– We ask you to be present about 10 minutes before the start, so that we can start immediately. Have you been there before? Then we would like to ask you to do another round in that beautiful Markthal, so that we have time to prepare all the stuff

– Our workshops are suitable for participants from 12 years old

– You don't have to bring anything except a good mood
