Apple crumble with cinnamon
A crumble is one of my favorite desserts… it's easy to make, it contains a lot of fruit and because it doesn't have a dough base it's not too bad with the calories. You can put this classic apple crumble on the table in no time. Mix, bake and cool - that's all you need to do.
Different types of crumble
In addition to this classic apple crumble, you can come up with many more delicious combinations. In our latest cookbook 'Soulfood & Spaghetti' there are three more recipes for extra tasty crumbles. By the way, did you know that the book contains 150 brand new recipes from our own personal kitchen?

You can make one large bowl of apple crumble from this recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 fresh and sour apples
- the juice of ½ orange
- 50 g sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 100 gr unsalted butter
- 150 gr flour
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla-flavored sugar
- a pinch of salt
Preparation apple crumble with cinnamon
Peel the apples and then cut them into cubes the size of a dice. Drizzle them with the orange juice.
Add 50 grams of sugar and cinnamon to the apples and stir well. Then place the apples in a baking dish. A round bowl of 26 cm or a rectangular one of 20 × 25 cm is perfect for this.
Then knead the butter through the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. You want coarse crumbs (not dough!)
Sprinkle the shortcrust pastry over the apple mixture and preheat the oven to 180°C.
Bake the apple crumble for 30 minutes until golden and done. Then let it cool down to room temperature. Or, if you like it better, in the fridge for a cold apple crumble!
Tip: Delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
