Chicken wings in yogurt marinade

Chicken wings (or simply chicken wings in Dutch, of course) are really great: super tasty, so ready and very easy to prepare. In this recipe I make them with a delicious marinade based on Greek yogurt. This makes the wings wonderfully tender and crispy.

It is best to spread the marinade on the chicken about 2 hours before baking. This way the flavors can penetrate the meat well. However, if you have forgotten, you can also do it just before they go into the oven. Fortunately!

Baked potatoes, flatbread & vegetables

In the video, I made the wings in combination with baked potatoes (simply on the baking sheet alongside the chicken), vegetables, and the flatbreads from our new cookbook ' Soulfood & Spaghetti '. Fun fact: Greek yogurt goes into the bread too!

This recipe is for 4 people. Do you need more or less? Then you can easily double or halve it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Kg chicken wings, halved
  • 4 cm ginger root, grated
  • 2 cloves of garlic, pressed
  • 3 tablespoons of Greek yogurt
  • 1 the Curacao Hot Chicken spice mix
  • olive oil, for drizzling

Preparation chicken wings with yogurt marinade

Wash the chicken wings and pat them dry. Then place them in a large bowl and grate the fresh ginger and garlic cloves over them. Now add the Curaçao Hot Chicken spice mix.

Then spoon the yogurt on the wings and massage the marinade well through the meat. Now let the chicken wings cool for 2 hours.

Then preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.

Divide the chicken wings over the baking tray and make sure they are always skin side up. If desired, divide some potato wedges between the chicken wings.

Sprinkle the meat (and possibly the potatoes) with a little olive oil and bake the chicken wings for about 35-40 minutes, until they are cooked through and golden. Serve the wings hot with vegetables and sauce to taste. - Enjoy your meal!

Air fryer chicken wings

You can also bake these wings perfectly well in the air fryer. In that case, the baking time is 30 minutes and the temperature is 200°C.
