Healthy tuna salad with bell pepper

This is the 'skinny' and at least as tasty version of tuna salad† You make it with tuna, bell pepper, cucumber and onion. The chili, spices and dressing provide the taste. This salad is low in calories and therefore suitable for almost any diet. Best? It's on the table in 20 minutes!

Despite the fact that there are no fattening ingredients in this healthy tuna salad, it is a real taste bomb! Perhaps even more than usual, because the hearty flavors are now not masked by potato or mayonnaise. So doubly delicious!

We served the tuna salad as a small starter, in a glass. This is a festive start to the meal. You can of course also eat the salad in larger portions and even put it on a sandwich… you can actually do anything with it.



This recipe is for 4 small appetizers or 2 large portions of tuna salad. Do you need more or less? You can easily double or halve the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (about 150 gr) tuna
  • ½ red bell pepper, diced
  • ½ yellow bell pepper, diced
  • 10 cm cucumber, peeled and diced
  • ½ red onion, chopped
  • ½ chili pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 sprig parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 spring onions, in rings
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • the juice of ½ lime
  • salt and pepper to taste

Healthy tuna salad preparation

Drain the tuna and place the fish in a large bowl. Separate the tuna with 2 forks. Then add the diced bell pepper, cucumber and red onion to the fish.

Then add the finely chopped chili pepper and parsley to the tuna in the dish.

Cut the spring onions into rings and add these too. Then gently mix the tuna salad together.



Mix the olive oil with the lime juice in a bowl. You can whisk them together so that it looks like they are mixed. Pour this dressing over the tuna salad and then finish the salad with salt and pepper to taste.

Tip: Serve the healthy tuna salad as a small starter or on a sandwich, for example. - Enjoy your meal!
