Spicy oysters with jalapeño vinaigrette
You can make these spicy oysters in no time. After opening, they get a bit of spicy jalapeño vinaigrette. And really, I like it…
I'll say it right away: I love spicy food. And if you have oysters, there's nothing better than serving them with a spicy jalapeño vinaigrette. We are going to make this vinaigrette with the red wine vinegar from Tromp & Rueb. As a result, the oysters not only color beautifully pink, but they also taste extra delicious. Trust me, this recipe is really a flavor bomb!
This recipe is for 6 oysters. You can easily halve or double the recipe.
Ingredients:
- 6 oysters
- 1 jalapeño pepper
- 1 small red onion
- 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sumac

Preparation of the Spicy Oysters
1. Start by opening the oysters. Be careful, you don't want to cut yourself. Use an oyster knife and a tea towel for extra grip.
2. Cut the red onion into very fine pieces. The smaller the better – because the pieces should fit easily on the oysters.
3. Place the sliced onion in a small bowl and add the Tromp & Rueb red wine vinegar. Let this sit for a while so that the flavors can mix well.
4. Cut the jalapeño pepper into pieces and add it to the onion-vinegar mixture.
5. Add a teaspoon of sumac. This gives an extra tasty taste to your vinaigrette.
6. Using a teaspoon, spoon the onion-jalapeño-vinegar mixture onto the oysters.
And your spicy oysters with jalapeño vinaigrette are ready! Enjoy this flavor bomb and don't forget to toast the nice things in life. Enjoy your meal!
